Lotto Special Draws & Events
Special Lotto events are scheduled from time to time to create extra excitement around big occasions and give players even more opportunities to win than in usual draws.

Time until the draw:
For the second year running, there will be a special pre-Christmas Lotto draw in 2017. There will be an extra 200 prizes of £20,000 in the Lotto Raffle on Saturday 23rd December, taking the total number of guaranteed Lotto Raffle prizes to 221. One player will win £1 million as usual, with 220 awards of £20,000 instead of the regular 20.
There were also 200 extra Lotto Raffle prizes of £20,000 in the Lotto draw on 24th December 2016, while the draw on 31st December 2016 offered 100 extra prizes of £20,000.
2016 Medal Event
There was a special Lotto medal event held on Saturday 27th August 2016 to celebrate National Lottery contributions made to the Great Britain Olympic team. In addition to the usual single Lotto Millionaire Raffle prize of £1 million and 20 awards of £20,000, multiple additional prizes were available based around the number of medals won by Team GB at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The National Lottery promised a £1 million raffle prize for every gold medal brought back by a Great Britain and Northern Ireland team member from Brazil, a £100,000 award for every silver and £50,000 for each bronze.
Players had the same Lotto Millionaire Raffle codes entered into both the regular raffle draw and the special event draw, with the usual single £1 million prize and 20 £20,000 prizes being drawn before the gold, silver and bronze awards in that order.
The prizes on offer in the draw were:
- 27 prizes of £1 million
- 23 prizes of £100,000
- 17 prizes of £50,000
Lotto Millionaire Raffle Launch
There was also a special draw to mark a number of Lotto changes made on Saturday 10th October 2015, with 25 Lotto Millionaire Raffle prizes of £1 million paid out to launch the new supplementary game.
Take a look at the Lotto Results page to see the full list of winning codes from the special draws. For every £1 played on National Lottery games, 28p is paid into the Good Causes fund, helping support worthy projects across the country. A proportion of the money raised is used to help UK Olympians, with the majority of those who participated in Rio having received some lottery support.
