Time left to buy tickets:

The odds displayed in the table above are the chances of getting a prize across both rounds of a draw night. Prior to 7th June, 2026, the numbers you played in a draw only had one chance to win, but major changes to the game improved the odds significantly. Two sets of numbers are now selected at random on each draw night, so your ticket gets two chances to win.

Your chances of winning the jackpot under the old format, for example, were 1 in 45,057,474. Now that a second set of numbers is drawn, the chances of winning are effectively 2 in 45,057,474, or 1 in 22,528,738.

With two chances to win on each draw night, the odds are improved for every single prize category, while the overall odds of getting any prize are now better than 1 in 5.

Lotto HotPicks Odds

Although HotPicks uses the same main numbers as Lotto it is actually an independent game with tickets costing just £1. The odds of winning each prize tier also differ slightly:

Prize Tier Match Odds Of Winning
1 5 out of 5 1 in 417,200
2 4 out of 4 1 in 15,172
3 3 out of 3 1 in 813
4 2 out of 2 1 in 57.3
5 1 out of 1 1 in 5.2

These HotPicks odds also show your chances of winning a prize across both rounds of a draw night. The odds are different to the main Lotto draw because you must match all the numbers you pick. For example, it is more unlikely to match three numbers in HotPicks because you only select three numbers on your ticket and must match them all. In Lotto, you pick six numbers, so even if you don’t have any of the first three numbers that are drawn, you still have a chance to get the next three.
