Lotto Colours
Lotto uses colours to distinguish the numbers drawn each Wednesday and Saturday. The balls for the main draw come in six different colours, grouped in sets of nine or ten numbers. Here you can get the most up to date statistics on which shades appear most often in the winning lines.
Lotto Ball Colour Statistics
These are the numbers represented by each of the six colours:
Number Range | Ball Colour |
---|---|
1 to 9 | White |
10 to 19 | Blue |
20 to 29 | Pink |
30 to 39 | Green |
40 to 49 | Yellow |
50 to 59* | Purple |
*Until the 10th October 2015, Lotto players only had to select numbers from 1 - 49. So data for purple balls is only available after this date when numbers 50 to 59 were added to the draw.

Please note, whilst some players may like to look for trends or use their favourite colours to help choose their numbers, all colours are equally likely to appear in any given draw. If you would like more information on which specific numbers are most common or the most overdue, then visit the Lotto Statistics page. The data shown here does not include bonus balls.
