Two Lotto Players Share £17.2 Million Jackpot
Updated: Friday 15th November 2019

Two Lotto players shared Saturday 20th January’s £17.2 million jackpot, correctly matching the winning numbers 2, 10, 19, 28, 29 and 31. They will each pick up £8.6 million, becoming the first jackpot winners of the year and the first players to match all six main numbers since Saturday 18th November 2017.

Lotto Prize Winners

In addition to the two brand new millionaires, 1,691,303 players picked up prizes in Saturday night’s draw. Awards ranged from a free Lucky Dip for those who matched two main numbers, to the £1 million top tier Lotto Millionaire Raffle winner, who matched the code PINK 2737 0290.

If you bought a Lotto ticket for the draw, you should check your numbers immediately, including your Lotto Raffle code, on the Lotto Checker page.

Claiming Lotto Prizes

If you are one of the two Lotto jackpot winners and you bought your entry at a shop, you are advised to sign the back of your ticket immediately, so that no one else can claim the prize if you mislay it. The next step is to ring the National Lottery on 0845 278 8000 and, during the call, you will be asked to read some details from the slip. If they check out, you must arrange a meeting with a winners’ advisor, who can put you in contact with legal and financial advisors before paying out your winnings.

You can claim prizes worth up to £100 at any retailer, with some able to pay up to £500 at their discretion. For claiming other amounts won on physical tickets, take a look at the How to Claim page.

Online prizes are paid directly into either your player account or bank account, but you will have to arrange a meeting with a winners’ advisor for awards of £30,000 or more.

Lotto Jackpot Winners

Although, before Saturday, no one had matched all six main Lotto numbers in a draw since November, Gloucester taxi driver Amo Riselli scooped £24.5 million on Saturday 23rd December. The 50-year-old father of five was the only player to match five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in what was a ‘must-win’ draw after the jackpot passed its cap.

Next Lotto Jackpot

Whilst Lotto fans wait to discover the identities of the latest jackpot winners, there is a fresh jackpot to play for in Wednesday’s draw. You can buy Lotto tickets now for a chance to pocket the £1.8 million bounty, or why not improve your odds and join an online syndicate?
