Single Ticket From Ireland Wins €17 Million EuroMillions Jackpot
A single ticket from Ireland matched all five numbers and both Lucky Stars in Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw to win a jackpot worth €17 million (£14.8 million). The win comes just days after another Irish jackpot winner came forward to claim a €4 million (£3.5 million) Lotto win.
EuroMillions Results for Tuesday 5th June
The winning numbers in Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw were 9, 15, 22, 39, and 46, with Lucky Stars 4 and 5. The lucky ticket holder from Ireland was the only player to match all seven numbers, landing them the entire €17 million jackpot.
A lottery spokesperson said: “This is amazing news! What a great start to the summer for this lucky ticket holder. We are asking all our players to check their tickets carefully to see if they are the lucky winner or winners.
“If they are we encourage them to sign the back of the ticket, keep it safe and contact the National Lottery Prize Claims team on 01 836 4444. We are open from 9.15am [on Wednesday] and we will make arrangements for you to collect this unbelievable prize.”
Details have yet to be released about the winner, so the wait is on for them to come forward to claim their prize. They have 90 days from the date of the draw to come forward. See the Results page for a full breakdown of the prizes won in Tuesday’s draw.
It is the 13th EuroMillions jackpot won in Ireland and it continues a lucky streak that has now seen Irish players win over €22 million (£19 million) over the past month, including a player from Kilkenny who landed €500,000 (£437,000) in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Friday 25th May. In addition, another Irish player is €1 million (£875,000) richer after their ticket was drawn in the Ireland-only raffle on Friday 1st June.
That €1 million raffle prize is still to be claimed, however, so if you bought a EuroMillions ticket from Tramore Service Station in Co. Waterford for the draw on Friday 1st June, check it to see if it’s a winner. The winning raffle code was I-DTG-57033. The prize expires on 30th August 2018.
Irish Lotto Winner Comes Forward to Claim Prize
EuroMillions is not the only lottery to pay out big prizes to players from Ireland recently. A winner of a €4.3 million (£3.7 million) Irish Lotto jackpot came forward to claim their prize this week. Details about the ticket holder have yet to be released, but the winning line was bought Whitty’s Mace, Caherdavin on Saturday 2nd June for that night’s draw.
The owner of the store, DJ Whitty, said: “People are delighted, we are 21 years here and we get a lot of support and it means a lot to us that someone local won it – it’s brilliant.” It is the second winning lottery ticket the store has sold.
Another Jackpot up for Grabs This Friday
The EuroMillions jackpot stays at €17 million for the next draw on Friday 8th June, and if you want to be in with a chance of continuing the lucky streak, you can take part online or by buying a ticket from authorised retailers in any of the participating countries.Published: Wednesday 6th June 2018
