Search Begins for £1 Million Winner From Northern Ireland

Search Begins for £1 Million Winner From Northern Ireland

The recent winner of a £1 million lottery prize is still to come forward to claim their winnings. The unclaimed prize was won in the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker raffle on Friday 27th April, but nearly three weeks later, there is no sign of the lucky winner.

Winning Ticket Bought In Co Antrim

The ticket worth £1 million was bought on 27th April, in Co Antrim, Northern Ireland, so if that could have been you, check your tickets straight away. Two winning raffle codes were drawn on the night, and the one that has gone unclaimed is XJFK54026.

The claim period for tickets purchased in the UK is 180 days, so the winner has until Wednesday 24th October 2018 to claim the prize. If, after this time, the prize money has not been claimed, the money will go into the National Lottery’s Good Causes fund.

If you bought a ticket on that day and have since lost it, you can find detailed instructions on what to do on our Lost Tickets page. Although the National Lottery is under no obligation to pay out prizes if a winning ticket cannot be produced, they may consider it if you provide sufficient proof that you purchased the ticket.

Deadline For Another £1 Million Prize Passed This Week

This latest hunt for a millionaire comes after another £1 million prize went unclaimed this week. The owner of a winning Millionaire Maker ticket from the draw on 14th November 2017 did not come forward to claim the prize before the deadline passed on 13th May, so the money has gone to the Good Causes fund. Sadly, even if the winning ticket is produced now, the ticket holder will not be able to claim the prize.

The National Lottery’s Senior Winners' Advisor, Andy Carter, said: “Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money. To avoid this unfortunate situation happening again, I would urge all National Lottery players to check their tickets on a regular basis.”

Just One of Many Unclaimed Prizes

Unfortunately, unclaimed prizes of this size are not uncommon. In the UK, unclaimed prizes total more than £12.5 million - and that’s just the ones that are still within the claim deadline. Millions of pounds of prize money goes unclaimed every single year.

The silver lining to this is that all of the unclaimed money goes towards good causes and charitable projects throughout the UK. In the year ending March 2017, over £1.6 billion was distributed to good causes around the country, funding a diverse range of projects, from helping to build village shops to sponsoring Olympic and Paralympic champions.

Double EuroMillions Rollover This Friday

You have two more chances to win £1 Million in the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker raffle this Friday, as well as a chance at a jackpot that has already rolled over twice to reach £32 million. If you want to participate in the next EuroMillions draw, you can subscribe online or buy a ticket from any authorised retailer in the UK.

If you buy a ticket from a retailer, remember to check your numbers! Our EuroMillions Results Checker will tell you in seconds if you’ve won a prize, so don’t be one of the people who lets £1 million slip through their grasp.
