Record-Breaking EuroMillions Jackpot Won but UK Misses Out

Updated: Wednesday 18th June 2025
As of Tuesday 17th June, EuroMillions has a new record jackpot winner! One EuroMillions player has successfully matched all five numbers and both the Lucky Stars to land a prize worth £213 million (€250 million). The winning ticket wasn’t sold in the UK, but in Ireland.
Maximum Jackpot Limit
The draw on Tuesday 17/06 was the second time ever that the EuroMillions jackpot has reached the €250 million limit. Following on from a string of 19 draws with no jackpot winner, the top prize grew by around £12 million per draw until it hit the cap.
This is distinct from the first time the cap was reached back in March, since the March jackpot was boosted straight to £110 million by a Super Draw event. On that occasion, the €250 million jackpot – won in Austria – was worth £209.3 million.
The winning numbers for Friday night were 13, 22, 23, 44 and 49, and the Lucky Stars were 3 and 5. Aside from the big winner, there were 3.9 million other winners across Europe.
One UK player picked up £1 million in the Millionaire Maker raffle, while two others scooped £6.2 million after matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star.
It remains to be seen whether any of the UK winners, or even the jackpot winner from Ireland, goes public - they might not even know they’ve won yet! The winner(s) can choose to remain anonymous, but it’s always more exciting to go public with a story.
Most notably, Joe and Jess Thwaite of Gloucester went public with their whopping £184,262,899.10 EuroMillions win back in May 2022 (what do you think they did with the 10p at the end of that massive prize?). The Thwaites are the UK’s second-biggest winners, behind a ticket holder who claimed £195 million anonymously later in 2022.
EuroMillions: What now?
EuroMillions continues as normal following on from this massive win – the jackpot will be reset to its starting value of £14 million (€17 million). Doesn’t sound that much compared to the £213 million preceding it, but it would take a Briton on the average UK salary around 400 years to earn that much money!
You can enter the next draw using the official UK National Lottery app or by heading to the store to purchase a physical ticket. You can even participate online by heading to our Tickets page. This option is even available in many countries where EuroMillions isn’t played.
