Friday EuroMillions Superdraw Shelved: Jackpot Hits £137 Million

Friday EuroMillions Superdraw Shelved: Jackpot Hits £137 Million

EuroMillions Superdraws are special events in the lottery calendar and there was supposed to be one held on Friday 5th of June, but it's been cancelled. What is a Superdraw and why won't this one be going ahead? Read on…

What is a EuroMillions Superdraw?

EuroMillions Superdraws are special draws where the jackpot is boosted to €130 million (around £110 million in GBP) regardless of the value of the jackpot for the previous draw. Under normal circumstances, the EuroMillions jackpot increases according to a formula based on the amount raised by ticket sales – Superdraws are a fun way to increase the excitement around the EuroMillions jackpot.

Often, national lotteries across Europe will run additional promotions on the night of the Superdraw; our own National Lottery often offers more winning Millionaire Maker codes than usual. Superdraws are only held four or so times per year, making them some of the biggest dates in the world for lottery fans.

So why was this one cancelled?

Maybe you've seen where this one's going already, but what happens when the EuroMillions jackpot is already above €130 million (£110 million-ish) by the time the Superdraw date rolls around? In this case, the Superdraw is cancelled and rescheduled at a later date. For Friday's draw, the EuroMillions jackpot is projected to be a substantially bigger €159 million (£137 million).

Unless it's won, the jackpot will roll all the way up to €250 million before it hits the jackpot cap, and it will sit there for five draws before the whole lot gets rolled down to the prize tiers below.

It's not unheard of for Superdraws to be cancelled & rescheduled for this reason. In fact, this happened last Summer in July of last year when the jackpot was too high for the Superdraw to take place, then proceeded to roll all the way to the cap when it was won by a family lottery syndicate in Cork, Ireland.

When is the next EuroMillions Superdraw?

The new Superdraw date has not been announced – anything could happen to the jackpot now: it could be won next draw, or weeks down the line. In this case, a new date is usually released in the following weeks.

How to Get Involved

Superdraw or no Superdraw, it's still going to be a massive £137 million, well on the way to hitting the jackpot cap. If you'd like to get involved, visit the Tickets Page to get started with an online vendor or digital syndicate.

There have already been three EuroMillions jackpots won in 2026, and the current jackpot is already the second-largest so far for this year. The three big wins have been won by five players, one in Belgium, one in France, and three in the UK. Britain looks like it's having a good year for jackpots – will the trend continue?
