Chance To Win UK’s Record Jackpot As EuroMillions Hits Cap
Updated: Friday 15th August 2025
A rollover in Friday night’s EuroMillions draw has pushed the jackpot up to its maximum amount – equal to approximately £210 million.
The jackpot has been building for two months since the last time it was won, and the latest draw offered a chance to win more than £200 million. The winning numbers were 13, 30, 35, 36 and 40, plus Lucky Stars 2 and 6, but nobody was able to match the full set.
A few players came close, and in the UK there were two ticket holders who matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star, pocketing £416,384 each. The Millionaire Maker also guaranteed that someone would scoop £1 million. Check out the EuroMillions Results page for full draw details, including the night’s winning Millionaire Maker code!
How the Jackpot Cap Works
The top prize will now rise again ahead of Tuesday evening, with the jackpot cap set to be activated. The limit for EuroMillions is €250 million – which is then converted to pounds sterling based on the exchange rate on the day of the draw. Any additional funds that would usually go on top are instead diverted to the prize category below the jackpot.
The jackpot could potentially stay at its cap for a maximum of four draws, then in the following draw it would have to be paid out. If nobody matches all the numbers in a Must Be Won draw, the full amount is split between winners in the Match 5 + 1 Lucky Star tier. The date this could take place now is Tuesday 2nd September.
In the meantime, everyone who buys a ticket will be hoping they can take home the EuroMillions jackpot. A UK win would make it the biggest lottery payout ever seen in this country.
The current record belongs to the anonymous player who pocketed £195 million in July 2022. Just two months prior to that, Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester landed £184 million and were happy to share their story.
To play EuroMillions, you need to pick five main numbers from 1 to 50, plus two Lucky Stars between 1 and 12. You might have a favourite set of numbers that you always stick with, base your selections on statistics or prefer to trust to luck with a random lucky dip. Alternatively, you could play in a syndicate so that you can submit more entries in an affordable way and boost your chances of winning.
Whatever your strategy, the only way you can win is if you take part. Pick up a ticket from any authorised National Lottery retailer or choose your numbers online, then remember to check the winning numbers after the next draw.
