What You Need to Know about February’s EuroMillions Superdraw

Updated: Tuesday 28th April 2020

With the upcoming EuroMillions Superdraw just around the corner, find out all you need to know about the guaranteed €120 million (£108 million) jackpot up for grabs on Friday 1st February.

Putting the ‘Super’ in Superdraw

EuroMillions Superdraws don’t happen every week but, when they do take place, a guaranteed nine-figure jackpot is always up for grabs regardless of the value of the top prize or number of tickets sold in the previous draw. February’s Superdraw – the first of the year - is no different, with players across all participating countries eager to cash in on the inflated jackpot available by becoming an instant multi-millionaire.

One of the highlights of the year for all EuroMillions players, this Superdraw will be the third one held in February, and the 23rd to take place since they were introduced in February 2007. The jackpot doesn’t have to be won on the night of a Superdraw, and will roll over until it has been won or reaches its €190 million jackpot cap.

The last Superdraw was held on Friday 21st September 2018 where the jackpot rolled over three times to £144 million before being claimed by a Swiss ticket holder. It was the biggest EuroMillions prize ever claimed in Switzerland.

The jackpot funds available in Superdraws are made possible through the EuroMillions Booster Fund, which is given 4.8% of the Common Prize Fund from every normal draw.

Join a Superdraw Syndicate

You can enter the Superdraw like you would for any normal EuroMillions draw, by picking five main numbers between 1 and 50 and two Lucky Stars between 1 and 12. You can fill out a playslip at a licensed retailer in any one of the participating countries, or join an online syndicate from various locations around the world.

Playing as part of an online syndicate is easy and convenient, and your numbers are stored safely in your online account. You are also automatically notified of any prize you have won via email and winnings are deposited into your online account so register today, if you haven’t already, and your bank balance could receive a significant boost as February begins.

Superdraws have helped to create some of the biggest EuroMillions jackpots of all time, with the UK among the most successful nations. Angela and Dave Dawes revealed their identities following their £101 million jackpot win in October 2011, and this was followed by Neil Trotter three years later, who took home £107 million. If the winner of the upcoming Superdraw comes from the UK, they will also have a decision to make whether to go public or remain anonymous.

Millionaire Maker Raffle Changes

Exciting changes to EuroMillions are due to come into effect from Tuesday 15th January. The updates, which were announced by Camelot – the UK’s official National Lottery operator - back in September 2018, will see more millionaires crowned in more special draws held over the course of a year.

The changes to the supplementary Millionaire Maker game, exclusive to UK-based ticket holders at no extra cost, will see one player win £1 million in every draw compared to the two winners currently announced in each game. This update was made as part of wider alterations made to Camelot’s games, with more special events for players to look forward to. The first special event will see 40 winners of £1 million each this spring, and more details are expected to be released in due course.
