Guaranteed €130M EuroMillions Superdraw Jackpot on 7th February

It has been revealed that the next EuroMillions Superdraw will take place on 7th February and will offer a jackpot of at least €130 million (£110 million by today’s exchange rates). The Superdraw will tie in with big changes to the game that come into effect from 1st February.

First Superdraw of 2020

After two EuroMillions Superdraws in 2019 – including one that led to a UK player winning £123 million – the first special event of 2020 has been announced. A jackpot of €130 million or more will be on offer to players in the 7th February Superdraw.

Last year was the luckiest on record for UK EuroMillions players. In addition to the £123 million winner in June, an anonymous player won a record £170 million in October. A Superdraw was scheduled to take place on Friday 4th October 2019 but the jackpot naturally rolled over to reach €190 million – €90 million more than the Superdraw would have offered – so the funds were held in reserve to be used for a future draw.

That time has arrived and should a single ticket holder in the UK win the €130 million Superdraw jackpot they will become one of the country’s top ten biggest lottery winners of all time.

Of course, there’s always the chance that the jackpot will naturally roll over to that amount before then. The jackpot sits at €75 million for the draw on Tuesday 7th January, so if there are no winners between then and Friday 7th February, the funds for the Superdraw could be held in reserve once again and another draw would take place in the future.

EuroMillions Changes Planned In February

The Superdraw will only add to what is already going to be an exciting month for EuroMillions players. Some big changes were announced to the game recently, including an increase to the jackpot cap, which will go from €190 million to €200 million on 1st February. The cap could grow even further in the future, to a maximum of €250 million. Should anyone win that amount, it would be the biggest jackpot ever won in a European lottery.

Further changes will also come into effect from 1st February. More money will be added to the jackpot for each draw, meaning it will grow faster. Currently, the jackpot reaches £100 million after 11 rollovers but after the changes it is expected that it will reach that amount after eight.

February’s Superdraw will bring the updated rules into play in style. Should no one win on the night, the jackpot could very well roll over to hit that new €200 million jackpot cap.

EuroMillions and Brexit

The United Kingdom is scheduled to leave the European Union before February's Superdraw takes place. EuroMillions will still be available to play in the UK after that and the rules won’t change because of Brexit, but any fluctuations in the exchange rate between pounds and euros could have an effect on how much the jackpot is worth to British players.

So that means while the jackpot on 7th February will be worth at least €130 million, which would be £110 million by today’s rates, that could change by the time the draw arrives. If the value of the pound falls (you get fewer euros per pound) the jackpot will be worth more than £110 million; if the pound increases (more euros per pound) the jackpot will drop in sterling terms.

Regardless of what happens between now and then, however, there will still be a huge jackpot to play for in the 7th February EuroMillions Superdraw. If last year’s trends continue into 2020, it could well be another UK winner.
