Single EuroMillions Ticket Worth £57.9 Million Still To Be Claimed

Updated: Friday 26th July 2019

UPDATE - 26th July: The winner has now come forward to claim their prize. Read more here.

All EuroMillions players in the UK have been encouraged to check their tickets after the £57.9 million jackpot still hasn’t been claimed following the incredible win on Tuesday 10th July.

“Check Tickets As Soon As Possible”

The eight-figure windfall was won after a single ticket in the UK matched the numbers 3, 8, 26, 33 and 45, and Lucky Stars 7 and 10.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said: “We’re urging all EuroMillions players to check their tickets as soon as possible but, in our experience, prize winners do not always come forward immediately after the draw. We often find that players have routines and check their tickets once a fortnight, once a month or wait even longer to check a batch of tickets.

“Maybe the missing ticket-holder has been caught up in the (football) World Cup frenzy. On the same evening as the EuroMillions draw, Belgium and France played their semi-final which was, of course, the night before England played Croatia at the same stage of the competition.

“Or the ticket-holder might not be a football fan but could have gone away on their summer holidays, not realising they have won. Whatever the reason, we’re urging all EuroMillions players to make it their goal to check their tickets as someone will score a cool £57.9 million.”

The National Lottery have said they will release more information about the area where the winning ticket was purchased if no one comes forward by Tuesday 24th July, in the hope of jogging the memory of the winner or winners. It isn’t known at this stage whether the lucky ticket belongs to a single player or a syndicate.

All EuroMillions players have 180 days from the date of a draw to come forward and claim a prize, so there is still plenty of time to get in touch with The National Lottery, but officials are clearly eager for winners to do so sooner rather than later. If the jackpot isn’t claimed in this timeframe, the winnings are transferred to the National Lottery’s Good Causes Fund.

Plasterer Thanks Stranger After £1 Million Lotto Raffle Win

A self-employed plasterer from Ossett, West Yorkshire, who won £1 million in the Lotto Millionaire Raffle on Wednesday 11th July has publicly thanked the stranger who let him skip the queue at Tesco Extra, allowing him to buy his winning Lucky Dip ticket just before the draw closed.

32-year-old Arron Walshaw believes he wouldn’t have had time to play if it wasn’t for the kind-hearted fellow shopper, and he’s revealed his delight after AQUA 5421 3759 was drawn as the winning code of £1 million.

He said: “We had a free Lucky Dip ticket from the previous draw to use and I knew it was only minutes until the draw closed. I popped in to a nearby shop where me and another lady approached the same cashier.

“She must have seen that I was in a rush because she insisted I went before her. What a stroke of luck that turned out to be! We would love to meet her again and say thank you for changing our lives!"

Arron and his fiance, 23-year-old Ceri Hall, went home after buying their Lucky Dip ticket to look for any pennies lying around the house to fund a camping trip. It wasn’t until the following morning that the couple realised the £50 they had counted was dwarfed by Millionaire Raffle winnings worth £1 million. They plan to use their seven-figure windfall to fund a dream wedding and splash out on their first house and a new car.

Lotto Millionaire Raffle is a supplementary game held alongside the main Lotto draw twice a week, with one guaranteed millionaire in every draw. Entry into the additional draw is included in the cost of a Lotto ticket.
