Lotto Player Wins £10.7 Million Jackpot

Updated: Monday 17th August 2020

A single ticket holder matched all six main numbers in Saturday night’s Lotto draw to scoop a jackpot of more than £10.7 million and become one of the biggest winners seen on the game all year.

The winning numbers for Saturday 15th August were 10, 14, 16, 22, 25 and 34, with a Bonus Ball of 21. There were over 1.4 million prizes won across the UK, including three players who picked up £1 million in the Match 5 + Bonus category.

The jackpot had climbed past £10 million following four consecutive draws without a winner, and if there had been another rollover on Saturday then a Must Be Won draw would have been held this Wednesday.

One participant ended up pocketing the top prize, making them the second-biggest Lotto winner since the start of 2020. The only time a larger single prize has been given away was on 16th May, when someone landed £10.8 million.

Every other time the jackpot has been higher this year, it has either been shared between multiple winners or rolled down in a Must Be Won draw.

The winner has 180 days to claim their prize. If they do not come forward within the first two weeks, the National Lottery will reveal the area where the ticket was purchased to raise awareness of the prize. Use the Lotto Checker to see how the numbers on your ticket compared to the winning line.

EuroMillions Jackpot Hits £86 Million

In a week for big jackpots, the top prize in EuroMillions has also grown to £86 million ahead of Tuesday night’s draw, following a rollover on Friday.

It has only taken seven draws for the jackpot to rise to this level, having been won most recently by a ticket holder from Ireland on Tuesday 21st July. On Friday 7th August there were 10 millionaires created in a special edition of the UK Millionaire Maker raffle. The supplementary game is included in the cost of a EuroMillions ticket and guarantees that at least one UK ticket holder will win £1 million in every standard draw.

With the jackpot increasing rapidly, it will soon be up to £100 million if there is no winner on Tuesday night. You can take part online for your chance to win or go to any authorised retailer.
