Huge EuroMillions Jackpot Split Between Two Players

Updated: Monday 4th June 2018

Two lucky players matched the full winning line in Friday night’s EuroMillions draw to share an incredible jackpot of almost £70 million. One of the tickets was sold in Portugal and the other in Spain, while 521,640 UK participants also picked up prizes on an exciting night.

EuroMillions Results for Friday 1st June

The numbers drawn on Friday 1st June were 17, 18, 24, 29 and 40, with Lucky Stars 4 and 5. There were over 2.1 million prizes given away across Europe and the UK had more winners than any other nation.

Apart from the jackpot, prizes ranged from £2.90 for matching two main numbers to £122,898 for matching five main numbers. Five of the eight winners in the Match 5 category came from the UK.

The winning codes in the Millionaire Maker were MVJN64276 and MVJR51954, rewarding each ticket holder with £1 million. Go to the EuroMillions Results page for more information, including a full prize breakdown.

How Successful is the UK at EuroMillions?

The UK ranks as the third most successful EuroMillions country in terms of where the jackpot has been won the most frequently. France has delivered more winners of the top prize, 87, than any other nation, but Spain is now just one behind on 86 following Friday’s result.

There have been 72 jackpots dished out to UK players, while Portugal crowned its 68th winner on Friday. All five of the other participating nations - Belgium (30), Switzerland (17), Austria (15), Ireland (12) and Luxembourg (2) - have also had multiple winners.

UK players have also performed particularly well since the start of the year. One ticket holder shared an enormous jackpot of £155.5 million with someone from Spain on Friday 23rd February, while another UK entrant bagged a prize of £121.3 million on Tuesday 24th April to become the biggest winner of 2018.

Next Big Jackpot

Prior to Friday’s draw, the jackpot had been rolling over since an Austrian player won £39.9 million on Tuesday 8th May. The top prize will now revert to £14 million for the next draw on Tuesday night, when there will be another two guaranteed winners of £1 million in the Millionaire Maker.

It may be that you want to consider the EuroMillions Statistics before selecting your numbers for the next draw, use the Number Generator to create a random set or stick to your favourite numbers. The odds of winning are the same for each combination regardless of your preferred method.

The only way to boost your chances is to enter more lines, and you can do this by joining an online syndicate to also keep the cost down at the same time.
