Get Set For £15 Million Lotto Must Be Won Draw on 5th July

The early part of summer is always exciting; the temperatures are soaring, holidays on the horizon, and now there’s even more to look forward to! Make a note on your calendar for Saturday 5th July, as we'll be treated to a special Lotto draw event.
The jackpot will be raised to £15 million, regardless of its value in the preceding draw and even whether it gets won or not on Wednesday. What’s more, the jackpot must be won!
How 'Must Be Won' Draws Work
In a Must Be Won draw, the jackpot is guaranteed to be paid out, and there are two ways this can happen. First, one or more players could match all six of the main drawn numbers - this will net them the jackpot, or a share of the jackpot, like with any other draw.
The alternative scenario is that no tickets match all the numbers and hit the jackpot. If this happens, a ‘rolldown’ is triggered and the £15 million jackpot is split between all the other prize-winners.
Match 2 winners receive £5 on top of their free Lucky Dip, and the remainder of the jackpot is then cut up and a percentage goes to each prize category. This can lead to far larger payouts than normal – for example, you might pocket around £100 for matching three numbers instead of the usual £30.
This is the third year in a row that a big summer event has been lined up for Lotto. One lucky player has landed the jackpot in each of the last two editions, putting them among the biggest winners of recent years.
The game works exactly the same way as normal in these special draws, so the odds of winning are just the same. The only difference is that if you do land a prize, it could potentially be much bigger than usual!
Make sure to pick up a ticket before the draw, and check the results as soon as they are available. You can also enjoy other games throughout the week such as EuroMillions, Thunderball and Set For Life.
