December Superdraw Adds To EuroMillions Excitement
A special jackpot event in December will give EuroMillions players an opportunity to set their sights on the ultimate early Christmas present. Find out more about this upcoming Superdraw.
When’s It Happening?
The participating EuroMillions countries have set the date for the next Superdraw for Friday 5th December. It will be the third event of its kind this year, following one in March and another in September.
What Will the Jackpot Be?
In keeping with Superdraw tradition, the jackpot will be worth a guaranteed €130 million. This amount will then be converted to pounds sterling on the day of the draw, based on the exchange rate at the time, to determine how much a UK winner would receive. It is likely to be worth around £110 million.
The money for Superdraws comes from the EuroMillions Reserve Fund. A percentage of the prize fund from every draw is kept in this back-up pot, allowing the participating national lottery operators to organise exciting promotions.
How Do Superdraws Work?
Superdraws work in exactly the same way as regular draws, apart from the enhanced jackpot. You still have to pick five numbers from 1 to 50, plus two Lucky Stars between 1 and 12, and the cost is £2.50 per play.
If nobody wins the jackpot, it rolls over to the following draw just like usual. The top prize could potentially go as high as €250 million (approximately £218 million) - which is the current jackpot cap. At this point, it can stay at €250 million for a maximum of five draws before it must be won.

UK players have had a lot of success in Superdraws, so could there be another big pay day for someone over the festive period?
10 Millionaires for Halloween
Before the Superdraw in December, UK players can look forward to a special ‘10 Millionaires’ draw on Friday 31st October.
To mark Halloween, the National Lottery will select 10 winning Millionaire Maker codes instead of the usual one. If the code on your ticket matches one of the winning codes exactly - with all the letters and numbers in the correct positions - you’ll get a prize of £1 million.
This type of promotion significantly increases your chances of becoming a millionaire. The exact odds of winning depend on how many tickets are sold, so they are never the same from one draw to the next, but the Halloween raffle will give you nine more opportunities than normal.
It’s also possible to grab a prize in the main draw on the same night as you win in the Millionaire Maker. EuroMillions has 13 prize tiers altogether, and you can win just by matching two of the five main numbers, or one plus both Lucky Stars.
EuroMillions draws are held every Tuesday and Friday night, so always make sure to view the results as soon as they are available.
