Date Announced for Next EuroMillions Superdaw

A date has been set for the next EuroMillions Superdraw, when the jackpot will be raised to more than £100 million. Find out when it will take place and everything else you need to know about the big draw.

When is the next Superdraw?

The Superdraw, also known as a Super Jackpot event, will happen on Friday 29th September. It will be the third draw of its kind in 2023.

How big will the jackpot be?

As with previous Superdaws, the jackpot will be €130 million. The value is set in Euros as that is the currency of most of the participating EuroMillions countries. The equivalent sterling value will only be confirmed on the day of the draw, based on the exchange rate, but it is likely to be around £110 million.

This amount is guaranteed, regardless of how much lower the jackpot is in the preceding draw, or indeed if it is won immediately beforehand.

If the jackpot already happens to be higher as a result of rollovers, the Superdraw will effectively be scrapped and the larger prize will be offered.

Where does the money come from?

Whenever you buy a EuroMillions ticket, a big portion goes towards the prize fund. A small slice of this prize fund is kept in reserve so that the minimum jackpot can always be made available and so that special draws or promotions can be held from time to time. When his Reserve Fund starts to build up, the EuroMillions countries can schedule a Superdraw or similar event.

What happens if nobody wins the Superdraw?

If nobody wins the Superdraw, the jackpot will roll over to the next draw as it would do normally. It can keep growing until someone matches all the winning numbers, or until it reaches the jackpot cap of €240 million (approximately £205 million). Go to the Jackpot Cap page to find out what happens when the game reaches its limit.

Is there usually a winner?

The odds of winning a Superdraw jackpot are exactly the same as the odds of winning in a regular draw. Sometimes the top prize is won on the night and sometimes it rolls.

In the last Superdraw, on 2nd June, a UK player landed £111 million and came forward to collect their money within 48 hours.

Superdraws have also helped to create some of the biggest EuroMillions wins in history. Last summer, for example, the jackpot rolled all the way to its €230 million (£195 million at the time) limit before a UK ticket holder won a record amount.

How can I take part?

You don’t have to do anything different to take part in a Superdraw. You can buy tickets from authorised retailers or enjoy the game online. Pick five numbers from 1 to 50, plus a couple of Lucky Stars from 1 to 12. Match them all to win the jackpot, or pick up another prize by matching fewer numbers.
