Belgium Wins EuroMillions Jackpot!

Updated: Monday 23rd July 2018

A sequence of fourteen consecutive jackpot rollovers came to an end in the EuroMillions game last Friday night, when one ticket matched all seven of the numbers that were drawn. The lucky winning ticket had been purchased in Belgium, and the final value of the jackpot was €153,873,716, which equates to £134,808,762.

The EuroMillions results on Friday 2 June were 08, 10, 24, 33 and 42, along with the Lucky Star numbers 03 and 09. In addition to the sole winner at the highest tier, there were seven tickets which matched all five main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars to win a second tier prize of £178,884 each, and we are pleased to confirm that one of those tickets had been purchased in the UK.

A third tier prize of £12,680 went to each of 23 tickets – seven of which belong to UK participants – that matched all five main numbers, and more than 3.81 million prizes were won across the lower tiers. In addition, two UK players are now celebrating their newfound millionaire status after winning £1 million each by matching one of the Millionaire Maker numbers, which were HQGT61980 and HQHB78954. The full schedule of prizes won can be viewed on the EuroMillions Results page.

Friday’s Belgian win was the 29th for the nation since the game began in February 2004, and that makes it the seventh luckiest country as far as jackpot wins are concerned. Interestingly, if we look at the EuroMillions Statistics for the period since the rules changed in September 2016, Belgium has won four jackpots, which puts it in joint first place with France.

As if all of that wasn’t enough to make Friday’s win notable, the jackpot that was landed was the second highest since the new rules came into play. The five highest jackpot wins since September 2016 have all be won by a single ticket, and in that same period the top prize has never been shared between more than two tickets.

We congratulate the Belgian winner on their success, and we look forward to seeing how long it will be before the jackpot climbs to similar levels. The top prize in the next EuroMillions game this Tuesday 6 June will be worth an estimated £14 million, so choose your numbers today if you’d like a shot at winning that amount, and good luck!
