£20 Million Lotto Jubilee Jackpot Must Be Won on 4th June

A special Lotto draw will take place on Saturday 4th June to mark the Queen’s 70-year reign, with a ‘Jubilee Jackpot’ of £20 million that must be won on the night.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is being celebrated throughout the long Bank Holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June, with a variety of events lined up across the UK.

And the National Lottery is using the occasion to hold an exciting Lotto draw that will offer the joint-largest jackpot of the year.

Jackpot Must Be Won

As the special event is a Must Be Won draw, the jackpot is guaranteed to be paid out, even if there are no tickets that match all six main numbers.

When nobody lands the jackpot in a Must Be Won draw, a rolldown occurs and every other prize winner benefits. If you match two numbers, for example, you’ll receive £5 on top of your usual Lucky Dip.

The other payouts in a rolldown vary depending on how many players have won. For example, the last time there was a £20 million Must Be Won draw, players in the Match 3 category scooped £96 rather than the standard fixed payout of £30.

If there is a single ticket holder who matches all the numbers, they will become the biggest Lotto winner of the year.

The jackpot does not often hit £20 million, as Must Be Won draws are usually held after five consecutive rollovers. The top prize typically starts at £2 million or £4 million and is worth between £11 million and £13 million when it reaches the point of a Must Be Won draw.

The money for the Jubilee Jackpot will come from the Reserve Fund, which is used to pay for Lotto promotions. You can buy tickets for the draw from authorised retailers or take part online.
