A single ticket purchased by a lottery player in France matched all seven of the numbers in Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw, bringing a sequence of seven consecutive rollovers to an end and giving the lucky winner a jackpot worth €83,397,527, which equates to £70,887,897. 

The main numbers that were drawn on Tuesday 11 April were 05, 21, 22, 31 and 49, and the Lucky Star numbers were 02 and 08. Whilst the jackpot eluded players in the UK, more than 427,000 participants from the country won prizes, and two UK tickets are now worth £1 million each after matching one of the Millionaire Maker codes, which were MWXJ67326 and VWXG29321.

This latest jackpot is the fourth that has been won by French players since the current EuroMillions rules came into force in September 2016, and it is the 85th French jackpot win since the game began in February 2004. That makes France the luckiest of all participating nations as far as overall jackpot wins are concerned, but it has only just edged into the lead since the rule change, with Belgium, Portugal and Spain all on three wins each. The UK has won two jackpots since September 2016, and Ireland has won one.

Now that the top prize has been landed, the jackpot for the next game on Friday 14 April has been reset to the guaranteed minimum of €17 million, which should equate to around £14 million. The most overdue main numbers as we head towards that draw are 12, 32, 39, 08 and 18, and the most overdue Lucky Star numbers are 01 and 03, if you wish to base your selection on statistics.

The EuroMillions win on Tuesday will no doubt motivate plenty of players to have a go at winning the massive multi-rollover jackpot prize that will be up for grabs in tonight’s midweek Lotto game.
