Cubis, like Jenga and Bejeweled, is an online slots game that doesn’t actually look like an online slots game. It involves a variety of coloured dice that are arranged in 5 x 5 grids on one horizontal and two vertical planes to create a three dimensional ‘corner’ shaped playing area. There are fifteen pay lines and you can win up to 50,000 coins if you are lucky enough to have the required dice on your side.

Although Cubis sounds like a rather complicated game (and it looks just as unusual when you first see it in action) after a few minutes you will understand it perfectly. The idea is to get as many matching dice in a line as you can -and the longer the row of dice is, the more you win. The winning combination of dice are then removed from the Cubis arena and replaced with new dice. That makes it possible to win again and again on each and every game.

Even if that’s all there was to the Cubis concept, it would still be a great game, but there’s more. That’s because some of the Cubis dice have special properties that can enhance your winning potential, as follows:

Wild Dice – First, there are Wild Dice that bear a multiplier figure on each side. These Wild Dice can substitute for any colour to help you complete or improve a winning line, and the multiplier figure multiplies the your prize you win as a result.

Line Bomb – This is a not a dice but a bomb that shoots fire in four directions (all at 90 degree angles to the bomb itself) and destroys the dice that are in its path. The Line Bomb only explodes when all existing winning combinations have been accounted for and your prize money allocate. The dice destroyed by the Line Bomb are replaced, giving you a fresh chance to win even more.

Square Bomb – The Square bomb explodes after all existing winning combinations have been accounted for, and when it does so it destroys the 25 dice on the same plane. Those dice are then replaced with 25 new ones, which means you can win again.

Nuclear Bomb – It sounds dangerous, but the Nuclear Bomb in Cubis is actually a good thing. As with the Line Bomb and the Square Bomb, the Nuclear Bomb only explodes when your existing winning combinations have been accounted for. However, when it does explode is destroys all 75 dice – that’s all of the dice on each of the three planes. The destroyed dice are then replaced so that you have a chance of getting more winning combinations. In effect, the Nuclear Bomb gives you a free spin!

The graphics and audio in the Cubis game are excellent. The background imagery changes from time to time and this really helps to keep things fresh and interesting, but if you come across a background you particularly like, you can lock it in place at the click of a mouse button.
