Postcode Lottery Good Causes
In 2013 the People's Postcode Lottery's parent company, Novamedia, was recognised as the world's second-largest private charity donor. The People's Postcode Lottery makes up one-fifth of Novamedia and promotes lotteries on behalf of a number of different charitable trusts. Out of every £2 ticket, 50p is donated to good causes who issue grants to charities and projects around the world.
The People's Postcode Lottery publishes a breakdown of charitable spending publicly and since its inception in 2005 it alone has donated more than £69.2 million to a wide range of good causes in such diverse fields as children's welfare, animal protection, culture, the environment and more.
The lottery boasts an array of celebrity ambassadors including Sir David Attenborough, Dame Ellen MacArthur, Sir Trevor McDonald, Clare Balding, Brian Blessed, Tim Healy, Lorraine Kelly and Ian Rankin.
