Yet Another Brit Wins EuroMillions
A lottery ticket purchased in the UK won the EuroMillions jackpot yet again on Friday 24 February, making it the third British win in a row. The main numbers drawn on Friday were 03, 07, 12, 26 and 34, with 08 and 10 being drawn as the Lucky Star numbers, and the winning ticket that matched all seven of those numbers is now worth £46,432,285. The winner has already approached lottery officials to claim their prize, but we don’t know if they intend to go public. Either way, if all goes well their £46.43 million could be transferred to their bank account at some point today.
There were plenty of other British players who were celebrating after the EuroMillions draw last Friday. Two of eight winning tickets at the second-tier prize level were bought in the UK and each of those won £166,822 after matching all five main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars. Sixteen tickets (one in the UK) matched five main numbers only to win £27,803 each.
58 tickets (16 owned by UK players) won £3,835 each after matching four main numbers and both Lucky Stars. The total number of EuroMillions prizes won was 3,545,101, and that isn’t counting the Millionaire Raffle prize that was worth £1 million to the lucky player who matched the number BFM800968.
In the Lotto game on Saturday 25 February the jackpot proved a lot more difficult to win. In fact, no ticket succeeded in matching all six main numbers and so the jackpot rolled over to the next draw this Wednesday. The Lotto results were 07, 25, 26, 27, 29 and 32, and the Bonus Ball was 33.
There were nine winning tickets at the second-tier prize level and each of those won £136,416 for matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball. 449 tickets matched five main numbers only to win £1,709 each and another 593,721 tickets matched either four or three main numbers to win £57 or £10 each, respectively.
The next EuroMillions jackpot this Tuesday 28 February will be worth around £12 million and the Lotto rollover jackpot on Wednesday will be worth around £6.8 million. If you like the idea of ending the second month of the year with a lottery jackpot win, buy your lottery tickets online for both games and good luck!
