Urgent Appeal for Lotto Medal Event Winners
As regular readers will know, the Lotto draw on Saturday 27th August was particularly special because there were 88 raffle prizes awarded instead of the usual 21. Unfortunately, not everyone seems to have realised that, because quite a few of the prizes have yet to be claimed. Lottery organisers are therefore appealing for everyone to check their raffle entries for that game and to make any claim needed as soon as possible.
The additional raffle prizes were awarded to commemorate the medal-winning performance of Team GB in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. As usual, there was 1 standard Millionaire Raffle prize of £1 million and 20 standard Lotto Raffle prizes of £20,000 each but in addition, the Lotto Medal Event awarded 27 prizes of £1 million for every gold medal won by Team GB, 23 prizes of £100,000 for every silver medal and 17 prizes of £50,000 for every bronze medal.
Because players have become accustomed to checking only 21 raffle numbers, if anyone failed to also check the additional Medal Event numbers, they may well have failed to notice that they had won a prize. For that reason, those who participated in the Lotto game on Saturday 27th August are being urged to check their tickets for that game once again, just to make sure that they aren’t sitting on a substantial prize of £50,000, £100,000 or even £1 million without realising it.
All of the winning raffle numbers for the Lotto Medal Event game can be found on our Lotto Results page for that draw. When visiting that page, you will see the winning numbers for the 21 standard raffle prizes, followed by the prize breakdown for the main Lotto draw, and then the list of the 67 medal raffle prizes. Check your tickets against all of those numbers to see if you have won.
Players who think that they may have lost or destroyed a winning ticket for the game in question must lodge their claim with lottery organisers by 5pm on Monday 26th September, so time is of the essence.
The good news for Lotto fans who play the game online is that their tickets will have been checked automatically and all winners will have been notified by email about any prize they have won. This appeal is therefore only for those who buy their tickets offline and have to take responsibility for checking their own tickets manually.
We hope that this appeal will result in more raffle winners coming forward to claim their prizes, so take some time today to check through your old tickets and be sure to make any claim required without delay. As always, details on how to claim any prize won can be found on the reverse of every printed lottery ticket.Thursday 22nd September 2016
