UK Player Wins EuroMillions

UK Player Wins EuroMillions

A UK player won the EuroMillions jackpot on Friday night, giving the country its second jackpot success of the year and making the winner £73,205,659 richer than he or she was before the balls were drawn. The main numbers selected on Friday 2 May were 04, 30, 31, 38 and 42, and the Lucky Star numbers were 02 and 11. The owner of the ticket that won this jackpot is now the eighth richest lottery winner in UK, but whether the lucky player will go public or exercise their right to anonymity remains to be seen.

Five tickets matched the five main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars to win a second tier prize worth £269,069 each, and two of those tickets were purchased in the UK. There were two tickets that matched five main numbers only and they won their owners £224,225 each, which was almost as much as the second tier winners. The total amount of cash won by UK players last night – including the jackpot itself – was £78,508,804. Another player won a completely separate prize of £1,000,000 by matching the Millionaire Raffle number VDP250121.

The Lotto game on Saturday night also proved to be a good one for jackpot hunters. Two players matched the main numbers 01, 07, 09, 27, 30 and 48 to share a top prize worth £4,767,860, giving each winning ticket a value of £2,383,930. There were 18 tickets that matched five main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball to win £14,147 each, and 433 tickets won £499 each by matching five main numbers only. The total number of prizes won was 402,462, and the Lotto Raffle game created an additional 100 winners of £20,000 each.

There were no winners of the £100,000 top prize in the Health Lottery game because no ticket was able to match all five of the main numbers that were drawn. Those numbers were 04, 11, 16, 20 and 50, and the number 38 was selected as the Bonus Ball. Whilst the top prize remained elusive, more than 8,000 players won a consolation prize.

With winners in both the EuroMillions and Lotto games, we have brand new jackpots to play for in the midweek draws over the next few days. Click here to enter your numbers online and you could win a EuroMillions jackpot of around £12 million on Tuesday or a Lotto jackpot of around £2.2 million on Wednesday. Enjoy the games and good luck!
