Two Win Saturday Jackpot
Updated: Thursday 24th April 2014
We previously brought you news that four tickets had shared the Lotto jackpot on Wednesday 25 August, and we can now tell you that the jackpot on Saturday 38 August was landed by two winning tickets. This means that six tickets have won a share of a Lotto jackpot in the last week alone, and for those involved we’re pretty sure that winning the lottery has to be the best thing to have happened all summer. The jackpot on Saturday was worth £4,701,086, so each of the two winning tickets is now worth £2,350,543. Whether the lottery winners are individuals or lottery syndicates is not yet known.
The lottery results on Saturday were 03, 17, 32, 35, 43 and 49, and the Bonus Ball was number 27. We had previously highlighted the fact that the number 49 was one of the six numbers deemed ‘most overdue’ to make an appearance in a Lotto draw, so we are of course delighted that it obliged so quickly. If this happy coincidence makes you want to start taking overdue numbers into consideration in the future, you might want to note that the six most overdue numbers for the Lotto game are now 09, 06, 48, 41, 29 and 23 – further details can be found on our Lottery Statistics page.
In addition to the two jackpot winners, no fewer than 19 tickets matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball to win £76,130 each. 479 players matched five main numbers only to win £1,887 each and more than half a million prizes of £74 (for four main numbers) or £10 (for three main numbers) were also won.
The EuroMillions game on Friday 27 August created two jackpot-winning tickets worth £6,173,250 each, thanks to the main numbers 01, 06, 13, 30 and 49 and the Lucky Star numbers 01 and 09. The winners hadn’t purchased their tickets in the UK, but seven other tickets matched the five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win £283,647 each, and we can tell you that two of those tickets did indeed belong to UK players. In addition, the Millionaire Raffle number of JWK846684 made another UK player £1,000,000 richer, so there was still plenty of good news for Brits as far as big prizes were concerned.
