Two Tickets Share Lotto Jackpot
Updated: Wednesday 9th April 2014
Two tickets matched all six main numbers drawn in the Lotto game last night, sharing the £2,375,918 jackpot which was up for grabs. That means the owners of both tickets can now look forward to doing their Christmas shopping as millionaires. A recent study highlights the fact that there have now been more than 3,000 millionaire jackpot winners since the National Lottery concept was introduced to the UK in 1994, and the sum of all prizes won exceeds £8.5 billion. Congratulations to everyone who has joined ‘the lottery millionaire’s club’ over the last 18 years, and especially to last night’s newest members!
The Lotto results on Wednesday 24 October were 01, 10, 19, 36, 47 and 48, and the Bonus Ball was 11. In addition to the two tickets that landed the jackpot itself, seven tickets matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win a second-tier prize of £104,436 each. 242 tickets won £1,888 each by matching five main numbers only, and another 257,605 tickets won prizes of £81 or £10 each by matching four or three main numbers. There will now be a brand new jackpot of around £4 million to play for this Saturday 27 October.
Over in Ireland, there was a lot less jackpot-winning luck to be had last night. In fact, it was completely absent. The Irish Lotto results were 01, 11, 14, 16, 18 and 23, and the Bonus Ball was 13. One ticket matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball number to win €25,000 and there were 39,370 tickets that won smaller prizes by matching fewer numbers. Thanks to yet another rollover, the next Irish Lotto jackpot this Saturday is expected to be worth around €7.5 million.
Our round-up of the midweek lottery action wouldn’t be complete without bringing you up to speed on the Health Lottery Win Wednesday Game, so let’s do that right now. The Health Lottery results were 13, 31, 37, 42 and 50. No ticket matched all of those numbers to win the top prize of £100,000, but more than 1,200 tickets won prizes of £250 or £20 each by matching four or three numbers.
With the midweek lottery games now out of the way, all eyes are on the £73 million jackpot that is available to be won this Friday in the EuroMillions game. Click here to buy your tickets online today and if your numbers come up you could be one of the richest people in the country before the clocks go back this Sunday. Good luck!
