Two Tickets Share Lotto Jackpot
Two tickets matched all six Lotto numbers on Saturday 30 January to share the £4.24 million jackpot. To be more precise, each winning ticket is now worth £2,122,675, although it is not known at this stage who the owners of those tickets are, whether they are individuals or syndicates, or even if they have yet come forward to formally claim their prize. As far as the EuroMillions lottery draw on Friday 29 January is concerned, one ticket matched all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars to win the entire jackpot of £25.4 million.
In the Lotto game, the lottery results which made the two jackpot winning tickets possible were 02, 03, 04, 19, 23 and 40, and the number 22 was drawn as the Bonus Ball. In addition to the two jackpot winners, 17 players matched five of the main numbers and the bonus ball to win £76,838 each. Another 565 players matched the five main numbers only to win £1,444 each. And, as usual, there were hundreds of thousands of players who matched fewer numbers and won more modest prizes.
The EuroMillions results were 09, 17, 30, 39 and 43, and the two Lucky Star numbers were 05 and 07. The outright jackpot winner obviously beat odds of 1 in 76,275,360 to match all of those numbers, but there were more than two million prizes won in all. Six players matched the five main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars to win £478,584 each, whilst another ten players matched five main numbers only to win £59,094 each.
Of course, EuroMillions players in the UK also enjoy an additional chance to win £1 million via the Millionaire Raffle game that is automatically included with each EuroMillions ticket. The Millionaire Raffle number that created the latest millionaire was XGP422767.
Turning our attention to the week ahead, we now have a £2.5 million Lotto jackpot to play for on Wednesday 3 February, but the big attraction will undoubtedly by the £85 million jackpot in the EuroMillions birthday Mega Jackpot game this Friday 5 February.
