Two Players Scoop Lotto Jackpot!
Winning any lottery jackpot is a once-in-a-lifetime achievement for most people, so winning a double rollover jackpot in a game that doesn’t often see double rollovers is something very special indeed. Two players did precisely that last night by matching all six of the main numbers in the midweek Lotto draw. Rollovers in each of the two preceding draws had helped to give the midweek jackpot a final value of £8,379,678, so each of the lucky Lotto winners can now claim an equal share worth £4,189,839.
The Lotto results that turned a fairly routine Wednesday evening into a life-changing event for the two players concerned last night were 04, 05, 06, 20, 30 and 35. The Bonus Ball number was 34, and although that number was extraneous to the jackpot, it helped the owners of 10 tickets that had already matched five main numbers to win a second-tier prize of £76,908.
There were 362 tickets that won £1,327 each by matching five main numbers without the Bonus Ball, whilst 18,845 tickets matched four main numbers only to win a prize of £56 each. The smallest Lotto prize of £10 went to each of 345,868 entries that had matched three main numbers only, and the total amount of cash won in the midweek game, including the jackpot, was £14,143,132. The next Lotto game this Saturday 18 May will now offer a brand new jackpot of around £3.8 million.
Over in Ireland, the midweek Irish Lottery game boasted a multi-rollover jackpot worth €5,105,145. The results were 10, 13, 23, 36, 40 and 42, along with the Bonus Ball number 05. Unfortunately, no ticket was able to match all of the numbers required to land the jackpot, and no ticket was able to win a second-tier prize either. The biggest winners were therefore found at the third-tier prize level, where 33 tickets won €1,645 each by matching five main numbers only. Over 28,000 tickets won smaller prizes, and the next Irish Lottery jackpot is expected to be worth around €5.5 million.
Back at home, the Health Lottery results for Wednesday 15 May were 09, 12, 23, 48 and 50, and the Bonus Ball number was 01. No ticket succeeded in matching a top prize of £100,000 on this occasion, but over 2,900 consolation prizes were landed. Don’t forget that the new Bonus Ball gives players twice as many ways to win, so if you haven’t participated in the Health Lottery for a while, now might be a good time to take a fresh look at the game.
Well done to everyone who won a midweek lottery prize, and especially to the two players who managed to land the double rollover jackpot in the Lotto game. For those of you who didn’t win as much as you had hoped, click here to buy tickets for the EuroMillions game this Friday and you could soon be the lucky owner of a multi-rollover jackpot prize worth around £53 million! Enjoy the games and good luck!
