Thunderball success on 28 June, 2008 has made one family in Wales £250,000 richer. Gareth Beynon, who is 43 years old, matched all five main numbers and the Thunderball itself to give himself and his family a massive financial boost.
Gareth, who lives in Pontyclun and works part time as a coach driver, has been playing lottery games ever since the National Lottery itself was launched. He is married to Sarah, who is 28, and they have a one year old son. Gareth also has four other children from an earlier relationship.
Gareth’s Thunderball success means that the family can now look forward to treating themselves in style, and a new Mitsubishi Outlander is at the top of their shopping list. The couple discovered their win when the checked their numbers online and saw that they had hit every one of them.
“When we saw we had all the numbers it took a while to sink in,” Gareth said. “We rang my two eldest sons to tell them straight away, but they didn’t believe us! The win just couldn’t have happened at a better time. Money was tight and we were starting to get worried. Now we can pay off all our debts, buy our dream car, put aside some money for the future and treat the kids.Published: Monday 7th July 2008
