Thunderball Jackpot for Train Driver

Thunderball Jackpot for Train Driver

A train driver from Wick in Scotland became £500,000 richer in a matter of seconds after landing the Thunderball jackpot on Saturday 5 March. The main numbers which gave 53 year old Alastair Cameron the half-million pound prize were 08, 10, 15, 16 and 25, and the all-important Thunderball number was 14. Now Alastair and his wife Isobel are looking forward to paying off their mortgage and buying themselves a new car, to name just a couple of the things that they already have planned.

Alastair and Isobel were watching the Thunderball numbers being drawn live on television, so they didn’t have to wait long at all to discover that their ticket - which they had bought from their local Tesco store - was a jackpot winner.

“Isobel began jumping around screaming that we’d won and I just didn’t believe her, I thought she was having me on,” Alastair said. “But then I checked the numbers and it really hit me. Isobel then phoned her mum and our  daughter Christine – we were so excited we couldn’t wait to share the news.”

Alastair has been driving trains for over three decades, and currently has no plans to retire early. Isobel, however, is quite keen to give up her self-employed position as a driver for special needs children. “I love my job but I’ve worked for a long time and to have the opportunity to sit back and relax is just too good to miss,” she said.

The Camerons have one adult daughter and three grandchildren. “Our grandkids are the apple of our eye so we’ll be treating them to something nice,” Alastair said. The couple also plan to pay off their mortgage, buy a new car and make a previously arranged trip to Las Vegas even more memorable than it would have been without the jackpot win.

We congratulate Alastair and Isobel on their Thunderball success, and for any reader who wants to try and hit their own big win there are several great jackpots up for grabs over the next few days. Buy lottery tickets online here and if you don’t win the £117 million EuroMillions jackpot this Friday 25 March you just might win the Lotto jackpot on Saturday. Good luck!
