Three Win Lotto Jackpot
Updated: Friday 25th April 2014
The Midweek Lotto game on Wednesday 26 August, 2009, was won by not one but three tickets that matched all six main numbers. The jackpot for the Lotto was worth £6,671,970, so each of the lucky winners will receive £2,223,990. This means that the Lotto jackpot has now been reset and there is a jackpot of around £4.4 million to play for this Saturday 29 August, 2009. Don’t forget that there is also a very nice £12 million EuroMillions jackpot up for grabs on Friday 28 August, 2009.
The lottery results on Wednesday 26 August were 3, 9, 11, 17, 28 and 48, and the bonus ball was number 6. In addition to the three jackpot winners – none of whom have yet been named – 35 players managed to match five numbers and the bonus ball to win £18,313 each.
If you play both the EuroMillions and the Lotto games this weekend you will effectively give yourself a chance of winning a slice of £16.4 million in jackpot prizes. The odds of winning any prize in the EuroMillions game are around 1 in 24, and the odds of winning any prize in the Lotto game are 1 in 54, so even if you miss the jackpot you could still end up with a nice pile of cash to show for your efforts.
Those of you who like to keep an eye on lottery statistics will be interested to note that the most overdue numbers for the Lotto game are 3, 5, 14, 22, 30 and 44. The most overdue main numbers for EuroMillions are 27, 1, 28, 3 and 48, and the two most overdue Lucky Star numbers are 4 and 8.
As always you can buy lottery tickets online for both the Lotto and EuroMillions games, as well as for popular lottery games in several other countries. Your chances of winning are not affected when you play online, so the only difference is that you won’t have to worry about losing your tickets.
Here’s wishing you a lucky lottery weekend!Published: Thursday 27th August 2009
