Three Tickets Share Lotto Jackpot
The Lotto jackpot had to be split three ways on Saturday 10 May thanks to a trio of lucky players managing to match all six of the numbers drawn. Those numbers were 03, 05, 08, 10, 16 and 17, and the domination of low numbers meant that there were more winners than usual, which helped to reduce the size of the jackpot to £3,515,436. It also meant that tickets which matched four main numbers (there were 30,503 of those) won just £25 each, which was the same sum won by tickets matching three main numbers.
Anyone who matched four main numbers last night to win exactly the same as three main numbers may feel a little hard done by, but lottery games are unpredictable things by their very nature, and these situations can and do crop up from time to time. The best response is therefore to chalk it down as just one of those things and hope for better luck next time. At the higher levels, five tickets matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball (which was 46) to win £34,347 each, and another 699 tickets won £208 each by matching five main numbers.
There were no top prize winners in the Health Lottery game on Saturday, but over 5,000 tickets were able to win a consolation prize of some kind. The main numbers drawn were 20, 38, 39, 45 and 50, and the Bonus Ball was 34, and the great thing about the Health Lottery game (apart from the fact that it only costs £1 to play) is that the value of all prizes is fixed. That means everyone knows exactly how much they stand to win regardless of how many people succeed.
The EuroMillions game on Friday 9 May offered a rollover jackpot worth £20.2 million, but no player could match all five main numbers (03, 21, 26, 28 and 45) as well as both Lucky Stars (07 and 10) and so the top prize rolled over once again. One ticket purchased in the UK won a second tier prize worth £1,068,993 by matching all five main numbers and one Lucky Star, and more than 2.4 million prizes were won at the lower levels. The Millionaire Raffle number on Friday was XDZ584385.
All of the above means that the next EuroMillions game this Tuesday will offer a double rollover jackpot worth around £25 million, whilst the Lotto game on Wednesday will boast a brand new jackpot with an estimated value of £2.1 million. Click here to enter your numbers for both of those games, as well as for the midweek Health Lottery draw on Wednesday, and good luck!
