Third May Lotto Jackpot Landed

Third May Lotto Jackpot Landed
Updated: Thursday 19th May 2016

The Lotto jackpot on Wednesday was won for the third time this month, which means that every midweek game so far in May has resulted in the top prize being landed. The £6.1 million jackpot was taken down by a single winning ticket, and the numbers that made it happen on Wednesday 18 May were 01, 03, 28, 34, 37 and 46. The Bonus Ball, which wasn’t needed to land the jackpot but was instrumental in helping a couple of players to secure a larger consolation prize, was 59.

There were two tickets that matched the Bonus Ball as well as five of the main numbers to win a second tier prize of £26,132 each. To put the value of that Bonus Ball into perspective, the third tier prize, which was won by 52 tickets that matched five main numbers only, was worth £1,057 to each winner. That effectively gave the Bonus Ball a value of just over £25,000 to those who had already matched five main numbers.

The fourth tier saw 3,833 tickets win a prize of £92 each for matching four main numbers, and 81,726 entries matched three main numbers to win £25 each. Another 787,025 tickets won a free Lucky Dip entry for the next Lotto game by matching two main numbers only, bringing the total number of Lotto prizes won to 872,639.

As usual, 20 players each won a Lotto Raffle prize of £20,000, and the full list of winning numbers can be found on our Lotto Results page. In addition, throughout the month of May the Lotto Millionaire Raffle game is awarding two prizes of £1 million instead of just one, and on Wednesday the two winning codes were GREY 1611 3978 and NAVY 1281 6617.

The next Lotto game this Saturday 21 May will now offer a brand new jackpot worth around £3.9 million. In the meantime, lottery players can try to land the second EuroMillions jackpot win of the month (the first was achieved by a player in Portugal) this Friday 20 May. The EuroMillions jackpot will be worth around £23 million thanks to two consecutive rollovers, so anyone who is lucky enough to win that sum – or even a share thereof – will have plenty to celebrate over the coming weekend.

Buy your lottery tickets in plenty of time to be in with a chance of winning either or both of the jackpots that will be up for grabs this Friday and Saturday, and be sure to let us know if you win big. Good luck.
