Syndicate Engineers a Lotto Win
A syndicate of four colleagues who work as civil engineers for CCN Communications Ltd in Portsmouth is celebrating after winning a quarter-share of the Lotto jackpot on Saturday 15 March. The Lotto jackpot for that draw was worth £6,235,392, and with four tickets matching all six main numbers, each of the winning tickets landed the sum of £1,558,848. The syndicate is led by Tom Fox, and the other three members are his son, Lewis, and their two work colleagues, Mark Bush and Sid Veness.
The syndicate had only been formed in January, and it was a line of numbers selected by Lewis that won the group its headline-making win. Lewis chose his numbers by including a few that were personally significant and using lottery statistics to help him add in a few of the most often picked numbers. The number 22 was the most significant for the Fox family, as it was the lucky number of Lewis's late grandmother as well as the date of his mother's birthday. The Lotto results that made it happen for the Portsmouth syndicate were 14, 19, 22, 25, 38 and 48.
It was syndicate leader Tom who found out that the group had won the Lotto jackpot when he checked their numbers against the draw on television. At first he thought he was seeing things, but after making good use of the rewind button on his TV remote control to watch the draw again, and again, and again, he finally accepted that their numbers had come up. He then set about the enjoyable task of contacting the other syndicate members to share the good news.
With a £1,558,848 fortune between the four of them, each syndicate member can now look forward to having an extra £389,712 at his disposal. Spending plans currently include organising a holiday for all of the syndicate members, investing wisely for the future and buying property.
We congratulate the four syndicate members, and we particularly like the way Lewis included a few of the most often picked numbers in his winning entry. Those of you who would like to consider doing something similar this week will find all the information you need on our Lottery Statistics page. Enjoy the games and good luck!
