Spain Wins EuroMillions Jackpot
Updated: Monday 16th June 2014
Spain won the EuroMillions jackpot with a single ticket on Friday, giving the country its fifth jackpot success in the first three months of the year. The EuroMillions results on Friday 28 March were 03, 04, 19, 28 and 43, and the Lucky Star numbers were 03 and 07. The Spanish player who matched all of those numbers landed a jackpot that was worth £20,942,416, and that was because the top prize had rolled over in the previous game. The next EuroMillions draw this Tuesday 1 April will be worth around £12 million.
Six tickets succeeded in matching all five main numbers as well as one of the Lucky Star numbers to win a second tier prize worth £179,315 each, and one of those tickets had been purchased here in the UK. Another seven tickets – three of which had been bought by UK players – won a third tier prize of £51,232 each by matching the five main numbers only. There were more than 2.9 million prizes won at the lower levels, and UK participants collectively shared more than £3 million in cash. An additional £1 million was won by the player matching the Millionaire Raffle number LBJ742888.
With Spain making the headlines on Friday night, lottery players in this country had to wait until the Saturday Lotto game for their next chance to win a jackpot. The main numbers drawn on Saturday 29 March were 08, 14, 16, 21, 47 and 49, and the Bonus Ball was 29. Two tickets matched the six main numbers to win a jackpot worth £4,637,560, so each of the winners involved are now £2,318,780 richer than they were this time last week.
Nine tickets won a second tier prize of £41,129 each by matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball number, and 289,321 tickets won smaller prizes by matching fewer numbers. In addition to all of that, the Lotto Raffle game delivered a prize of £20,000 to each of 50 winners.
The Health Lottery game rounded off the last weekend of March by giving one player a top prize of £100,000. The main numbers drawn on Saturday were 09, 20, 33, 35 and 42, and the Bonus Ball was 12. More than 63,000 players won a consolation prize of up to £10,000 each and the Hot Ticket promotion came to an end by awarding another ten prizes worth £2,000, £5,000 or £10,000 each.
Although Spain undoubtedly had the biggest cause to celebrate over the last few days, we think you'll agree that UK lottery fans also did pretty well. Players can now look forward to pursuing a brand new batch of jackpots, and the first of those – worth £12 million – will be up for grabs in the EuroMillions game this Tuesday. Visit this page to enter your numbers online and, if you get lucky, that sum could soon be landing in your bank account!
