Single Tickets Win Lottery Jackpots
The jackpots in the EuroMillions and Lotto games last Friday and Saturday were both won outright by single tickets, giving the respective winners plenty of reasons to start celebrating Christmas a week early. The EuroMillions jackpot paid the winner £39,175,449 and the Lotto jackpot was worth £4,672,310. Now that both jackpots have been won outright, the next EuroMillions game this Tuesday 20 December will offer a jackpot of around £12 million, whilst the Lotto game on Wednesday will have a jackpot of around £2.2 million.
The main numbers drawn in the EuroMillions game on Friday 16 December were 02, 05, 10, 23 and 31, and the Lucky Star numbers were 02 and 05. In addition to the single jackpot-winning ticket (which was purchased in Spain), 13 tickets won a second-tier prize of £98,038 each by matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star. Another 19 tickets won £22,359 each by matching five main numbers only.
There were more than 3.39 million prizes won in the EuroMillions game last Friday, and that doesn’t include the £1 million prize won by the UK ticket which had the winning Millionaire Raffle number on it. That number was CXF812504, and whilst we’re on the subject, don’t forget that the Millionaire Raffle game will be creating 25 millionaire prize winners this Friday 23 December.
The Lotto results on Saturday 17 December were 01, 22, 35, 39, 42 and 48, and the Bonus Ball number was 12. We have already said that there was just one jackpot-winning ticket, but there were more than 419,500 other prize-winning tickets too. 10 of those tickets won a second-tier prize of £143,763 each by matching five of the main numbers plus the Bonus Ball and 356 tickets won £2,523 each by matching five main numbers only.
There are now just two EuroMillions and two Lotto games to go until Christmas Day, so if you play just one entry in each of those games you will have four chances of achieving millionaire status before Santa drops down your chimney. Buy your lottery tickets online today and good luck!
