Single Ticket Wins Guaranteed Lotto Jackpot!
Updated: Thursday 20th October 2016
A single ticket matched all six main numbers to land a Lotto jackpot worth £26,196,380 in the midweek game on Wednesday 20th October. The jackpot was guaranteed to be won regardless, as the rules prevented the top prize from rolling over again, but we were glad to see it being won the old-fashioned way last night.
The winning numbers responsible for this £26.19 million jackpot win were 02, 03, 04, 32, 54 and 59. We don’t yet know the identity of the lucky winner, but we do know that he or she is the sixth Lotto player to have won £20 million or more in 2016 alone, and that their new wealth will make them richer even than many celebrities, including Jessie J and Sam Smith, who are worth around £16 million and £20 million each, respectively, according to The Sunday Times Rich List.
Another single ticket matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball number (which was 12) to win a second tier prize worth £67,814, and at the third tier, 45 tickets won £1,586 each by matching five main numbers only.
More than 980,000 prizes were won in total in the main Lotto game, and another prize of £1 million was landed by the ticket matching the Lotto Millionaire Raffle number, which was BLUE 7043 9086. There were also 20 prizes of £20,000 each won in the Lotto Raffle game, and the full list of winning codes can be found on our Lotto Results page.
Now that the monster Lotto jackpot has finally been won, the top prize for the next game this Saturday has been reset and should be worth an estimated £3.7 million. Don’t forget that there is also a EuroMillions jackpot of around £35 million, as well as two Millionaire Maker prizes of £1 million each, to play for on Friday night. Whichever games you choose to play, good luck with your numbers and be sure to let us know if you win big!Published: Thursday 20th October 2016
