Scottish Borders Winners to Go Public
A couple from the Scottish Borders who won half of the £66 million Lotto jackpot on Saturday 9 January will be going public about their win later today. The organisers of the National Lottery said that the couple’s claim had been verified, and that the winners intend to speak about their £33,035,323 success at a press conference to be held in Edinburgh. The owner of the other winning ticket from Saturday has not yet come forward to claim their share of the record-breaking jackpot, and they have until Thursday 7 July to do so.
The latest big winners will no doubt be make headlines across the nation not only today but also in the days and weeks to come, and the story of their success is likely to inspire plenty of other players to be more optimistic about their own chances. The Lotto game this evening, which is the first since the colossal win last Saturday, will offer a brand new jackpot of around £2.4 million.
We will get back to the midweek Lotto game in a few moments, but first we should say that the EuroMillions game last night saw the jackpot roll over for the seventh draw in a row. The EuroMillions results on Tuesday 12 January were 01, 02, 10, 30 and 44, along with the Lucky Star numbers 01 and 08, and the final value of the top prize that proved elusive once again was £52,409,215.
Not only did no player win the EuroMillions jackpot on Tuesday, no player won a second tier prize either. There were just two winners at the third tier, and one of the tickets that matched all five main numbers to win £624,487 each had been purchased right here in the UK. Another 47 tickets won £3,321 each at the fourth tier, and more than 2.05 million smaller prizes were won at the lower levels. The Millionaire Maker code on Tuesday – which was worth £1 million to the player with the matching ticket – was JXV651907.
The next EuroMillions game on Friday will now offer a jackpot worth an estimated £61 million, but as promised we should now bring our focus back to the midweek Lotto game that will take place this evening. The most overdue numbers as we head towards the next draw are 06, 33, 45, 05, 16 and 36, so do look out for those if you like to follow the Lotto Statistics.
Whether anyone wins a second Lotto jackpot in as many draws remains to be seen, but the Lotto Raffle game this evening is certain to create some big winners whatever happens. 20 players will win £20,000 each in the Lotto Raffle draw, and one player will win £1 million in the Lotto Millionaire Raffle, so good luck with your tickets and maybe you too will be going public about a big win in the near future!Wednesday 13th January 2016
