Rollovers for Lotto and Irish Lotto
Updated: Tuesday 22nd April 2014
The jackpots in both the Lotto and Irish Lotto games on Wednesday 4 January rolled over after no player managed to match all of the numbers required to land either one. This puts players in the enviable position of having two Lotto rollover jackpots and a massive £60 million EuroMillions rollover jackpot to play for this Friday and Saturday. Add in the £1 million that is up for grabs in the Millionaire Raffle game and the total amount of cash that could be won from the jackpots alone weighs in at around £70 million!
The Lotto draw in the UK on Wednesday selected 09, 26, 28, 30, 42 and 43 as the main numbers and the number 02 as the Bonus Ball. There were four tickets that matched five of the main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win a second-tier prize of £177,461 each. 196 tickets won £2,263 each by matching five main numbers only and 269,231 tickets won £78 or £10 each by matching four or three main numbers, respectively.
In the midweek Irish Lotto game the results were 03, 11, 20, 23, 33 and 36, and the Bonus Ball was 31. Over 33,000 tickets won a prize in this game and the biggest went to a single ticket that won €25,000 after matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball. 54 tickets matched five main numbers only to win €974 each and all other winning tickets won consolation prizes of €116, €39, €25 or €5 for matching four or three main numbers, with or without the Bonus Ball.
With rollovers taking place in both of these midweek Lotto draws the jackpots for their corresponding weekend draws this Saturday 7 January have swelled substantially. The jackpot in the Irish Lotto game will be worth around €2.5 million and the jackpot in the UK Lotto game will be worth around £6.3 million. And all of that comes just one day after the EuroMillions game gives players the chance to win £60 million on Friday 6 January.
