Quad Rollover Jackpot Shared by Three
It isn’t every month that Lotto players get to play for a quadruple rollover jackpot, so when they do come along it is no great surprise that every lottery player in the nation tends to sit up and take notice. That was certainly the case this week, and the good news is that three tickets succeeded in matching all six main numbers that were required to take down the top prize of £13,712,661. That gives each of the lucky jackpot winners a personal Lotto windfall worth £4,570,887, so well done to the players concerned!
The Lotto results on Wednesday 17 September were 09, 19, 22, 34, 41 and 46, and the Bonus Ball number was 06. The total number of prizes won in the main game (in addition to the jackpot that was effectively landed three times over) was 217,034. The biggest went to six winning tickets at the second tier, and each of those entries won their owners £51,678 by matching five of the main numbers plus the Bonus Ball.
There were 215 tickets that matched five main numbers only to win a third tier prize of £1,224 each, whilst 11,108 tickets won £125 each by matching four main numbers. The smallest prize – which is always fixed at £25 – went to each of 205,705 tickets that matched three main numbers. As if all of that wasn't enough, the Lotto Raffle game created 250 winners of £20,000 each.
The Health Lottery numbers for last night's draw were 03, 15, 16, 23 and 30, and the Bonus Ball was 04. There was one ticket that succeeded in matching all five main numbers, so the lucky owner is now £100,000 richer than they were previously. Over 6,000 consolation prizes were also won, so do check your tickets if you haven't already.
Last, but by no means least, the Irish Lotto game also delivered in the jackpot department last night, because one ticket matched all six main numbers (19, 25, 26, 27, 39 and 45) to take down the top prize, which was worth €4,871,046. Two tickets matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball number (42) to win €25,000 each, and another 24,405 tickets won smaller prizes at the lower levels.
All of the above means that there will be a brand new jackpot of around £4 million in the next Lotto game this Saturday, and a new jackpot of around €2 million in the Irish Lotto game on the same night. Before we get to those draws, we have a EuroMillions jackpot of around £69 million to pursue on Friday, so head this way to buy your tickets online and good luck with your numbers!
