Quad Rollover Jackpot for EuroMillions
The EuroMillions jackpot rolled over for the fourth time in a row last night, setting things up for a quad rollover jackpot that is expected to be worth around £43 million this Friday 9 August. The EuroMillions results for the midweek game on Tuesday 6 August were 16, 17, 31, 47 and 49, and the Lucky Star numbers were 03 and 11. With no player landing the jackpot, the biggest winner in the UK was the person who matched the Millionaire Raffle number FCD664958 to win a prize of £1 million.
There were two tickets that matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win a second tier consolation prize worth €556,392 each, and we quote that prize figure in euros because neither of the winning tickets belonged to a UK player. One of six winning tickets at the third tier had been purchased in the UK, and the prize paid to each of the players who matched five main numbers last night was £41,010.
19 tickets matched four main numbers and both Lucky Stars to win £6,475 each, and another 577 tickets picked up a prize of £186 each by matching four main numbers and one Lucky Star. There were 1,604,423 EuroMillions prizes won in total, and UK players collectively won more than £2.15 million in prize money.
The combination of a quad rollover jackpot being up for grabs in a Friday game means that participation levels (and, consequently, the number of prize winners) is almost certain to be much higher in the next draw. Players are therefore being advised to buy tickets in plenty of time to avoid the inevitable last-minute rush.
Those of you who could use some inspiration when considering which numbers to play in the next game might want to note that the most overdue main numbers right now are 02, 39, 46, 06 and 20, and the most overdue Lucky Star numbers are 08 and 09. The most common main numbers are 50, 04, 11, 44 and 19, and the most common Lucky Stars are 03 and 05.
