Portugal Wins EuroMillions Jackpot!

Portugal Wins EuroMillions Jackpot!

The extended series of EuroMillions jackpot rollovers, which had even persisted through the special Superdraw game that was held on 6 November, came to an end last Friday thanks to a single ticket in Portugal matching all seven of the numbers drawn. Portugal has now notched up 58 jackpot winners, which is 17.7% of the 327 winners that there have been since the game began. To put that figure into perspective, France and Spain dominate the leader board with 78 and 74 winners, respectively, whilst the UK is currently in fourth place on 55 winners. All other participating nations have had 25 winners or less, which probably reflects their more modest populations.

The EuroMillions results that gave Portugal its latest winner on Friday 20 November were 04, 30, 34, 46 and 49, along with the Lucky Star numbers 07 and 08. The Portuguese player who matched all of those numbers can now claim the massive sum of €163,553,041, which would have been worth £114,814,234 had someone in this country won it instead.

There were eight tickets that matched all five main numbers and one Lucky Star number to win £276,669 each at the second tier, and we are pleased to confirm that three of those tickets had been purchased in the UK. Unfortunately, UK players weren’t quite so lucky at the third tier, because none of the eight tickets that matched five main numbers only to win €118,553 each had been purchased in this country.

A fourth tier prize of £4,489 was won by each of 82 tickets that matched four of the main numbers as well as both of the Lucky Stars, and more than 4.05 million tickets won prizes at the lower levels. The total amount of cash won by UK participants was £7,890,154, and an additional £1,000,000 was won by the UK player who matched the Millionaire Maker code, which was QRK800164.

The next EuroMillions game this Tuesday 24 November will now offer a brand new jackpot worth around £10 million. Our EuroMillions Statistics page tells us that the most overdue main numbers are 24, 41, 05, 02 and 31, whilst the most overdue Lucky Stars are 05 and 01, so do watch out for those and good luck with whatever numbers you choose to play for yourself!
