Portugal Celebrates EuroMillions Win
Portugal is celebrating its biggest ever EuroMillions win after one of its residents managed to take down a jackpot worth €190 million on Friday 24 October. Portugal is the third most successful participating nation as far as EuroMillions jackpot wins are concerned, with the country having landed 53 jackpots since the game began. Only Spain and France have won more jackpots (with 65 and 71 wins each, respectively) and the UK is currently in fourth place, with 45 jackpot prizes having been won by players on these shores.
The EuroMillions results that enabled Portugal to set its new record on Friday were 03, 09, 20, 30 and 42, along with the Lucky Stars 01 and 06. There were more than six million prizes won in the game in total, and although UK players weren't involved in the jackpot win, they collectively shared over £13.7 million in consolation prize money.
Nine tickets matched all five main numbers and one Lucky Star number to win a life-changing second tier prize of £1,617,162 each, and we are delighted to report that three of those tickets had been purchased here in the UK. Another 24 tickets (10 of them belonging to UK players) matched five main numbers only to win £37,442 each, and there were 147 tickets that won £3,056 each by matching four main numbers and both Lucky Stars. All other winners landed smaller prizes by matching fewer numbers, and a completely separate prize of £1 million was won by the owner of a UK ticket that matched the Millionaire Raffle number HZR734604.
Congratulations to everyone who won a prize on Friday, but for those who didn't, don't despair as there is plenty more to come. This Friday 31 October there will be a EuroMillions Mega Friday draw, which will create 25 UK millionaires as Millionaire Raffle is transformed into Millionaire Maker. As if that wasn't enough, each of the new millionaires will get to celebrate their success on a private island for a fortnight with up to seven guests. If you fancy having a go at winning yourself 100 tickets for this special Mega Friday draw then head over to our competitions page and enter our prize draw no later than 11am on Wednesday 29 October.
Before we get to that Mega Friday draw we have a Tuesday EuroMillions jackpot of around £11 million to play for, so click here to buy your tickets online, think lucky thoughts and let us know if you win big!
