Outright Lotto Win on Saturday

Outright Lotto Win on Saturday

On Wednesday of last week two winning tickets shared the Lotto jackpot between them, but on Saturday the winner fared even better by winning the jackpot outright. The jackpot on Saturday 22 May was worth £4,734,000 and the lottery results that enabled one ticket to land that sum were 01, 04, 16, 37, 47 and 49, whilst the Bonus Ball was number 27. Whether the ticket that won the £4.73 million jackpot was owned by an individual player or a lottery syndicate isn’t known at this stage, but either way we can be pretty confident that this is a prize that will be celebrated by the winner(s) for a long time to come.

Finishing any event in second place is always disappointing, and when playing a lottery it is especially gut-wrenching to miss out on the jackpot by a single number. Fortunately the UK Lotto game has been carefully designed to give players who come close a generous consolation prize to help soften the blow. On Saturday nine players matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to pick up a consolation prize of £161,846 each. Another 390 players matched five of the main numbers only and won a third-tier prize of £2,334 each.

Our Lottery Statistics page tells us that the six numbers deemed to be ‘most overdue’ to appear in a future drawing are currently 39, 22, 07, 25, 41 and 42. Those of you who are looking for inspiration for numbers to enter for the next draw might want to include one or more of those ‘overdue’ numbers in the hope that they help you to win a major prize. Or, if you would rather leave everything to fate, including the numbers that you enter, why not use our Lottery Number Generator?

The jackpot for the next Lotto draw this Wednesday 26 May will be worth around £2.5 million, so if you fancy having another shot at becoming a National Lottery millionaire that is your next opportunity. You can also buy lottery tickets online for the next Thunderball draw on Wednesday and for the EuroMillions game on Friday, which will have an estimated jackpot of £13 million as well as a guaranteed £1 million prize for the Millionaire Raffle game. Whatever games you play, we wish you the best of luck!
