New Lotto Offers First Rollover Jackpot
Whether or not anyone likes the new Lotto rules that were introduced last week, one of the things that organisers said they were designed to do was create bigger jackpots more often via rollovers. Players didn’t have long to wait for that to happen, and tonight’s Lotto game will offer the first rollover jackpot brought about by those rules. The jackpot will be worth an estimated £7.7 million, and in addition to that the Lotto Millionaire Raffle game will create a single guaranteed winner of £1 million and 20 equally guaranteed winners of £20,000 each.
Two people who should know exactly how it feels to win big are the owners of the tickets that landed the EuroMillions jackpot on Tuesday 13 October. The two winning tickets had been purchased in the UK and Austria, and so they split the £23,035,307 jackpot equally, with the UK winner taking £11,517,653 and the Austrian winner picking up €15,439,214. The EuroMillions results that each of those winners will remember forever were 12, 15, 26, 29 and 47, along with the Lucky Star numbers 03 and 11.
There was one ticket that matched all five of the main numbers plus one of the Lucky Stars to win a second tier prize worth £731,368, and that ticket had also been purchased in the UK. The third tier saw nine tickets win £27,087 each by matching the five main numbers only, and more than 1.59 million tickets won smaller prizes by matching fewer main numbers, with or without one or both of the Lucky Stars. UK lottery players collectively won more than £14.52 million in the EuroMillions game itself, and another £1 million was won by the player who matched the Millionaire Maker code CMJ484477.
The next EuroMillions game this Friday 16 October will offer a brand new jackpot worth around £11 million, but before we get to that we have the first Lotto rollover jackpot of around £7.7 million to play for.
