New Lamborghini for Raffle Winner
A Millionaire Raffle winner who didn’t claim his £1 million prize until more than two weeks after his number came up now plans to buy himself a new car, and it will be nothing less than a Lamborghini Spyder. Gavin Davies is 29 and lives in Neath, and he had purchased four entries for the EuroMillions game on Tuesday 27 December. His numbers didn’t fare particularly well in the EuroMillions draw, but one of his Millionaire Raffle numbers made Gavin a millionaire. Unfortunately, he didn’t think to check those numbers until 13 January.
Gavin, who has a one-month-old son, decided to check his tickets after being prompted by his grandparents. They had seen a piece in their local newspaper about a ‘missing’ millionaire winner and rightly thought there was a chance that it could be their grandson.
“I was feeding our newborn son,” Gavin explained, “and as soon as I had got him to sleep, I decided to go out to the car to get my tickets which I had been keeping in the glove compartment.”
The idea of a lottery ticket worth £1 million being left in the glove compartment of a car for over two weeks doesn’t bear thinking about, but fortunately for Gavin it didn’t come to any harm.
“I had written down the numbers printed in the local paper, and checked them against all of my tickets,” Gavin continued. “When I saw the match I couldn’t believe it.”
Gavin immediately went online to confirm that he had won the £1 million prize. “I was jumping up and down with excitement as soon as I realised it was mine,” he said.
Now that he has had time to come to terms with his Millionaire Raffle win, Gavin couldn’t be happier. “The last few years have been very up and down, but this win couldn’t have come at a better time,” he said. “I always knew I would win the lottery one day, and now my dreams have come true. I have always dreamt of owning a Lamborghini, and I will also be treating my partner to a new car as well as taking my mum and the rest of the family on a holiday, but the rest of the money will be spent on a property and on other investments for mine and my family’s future.”
We congratulate Gavin on his win and wish him and his family all the best for the future. As for anyone else who fancies winning big, grab your lottery tickets online today and be sure to check your numbers straight after the draw!
