Mum of Three is Rich for Life

Mum of Three is Rich for Life

A mum of three from Weston Super Mare is celebrating after winning the top prize on a Rich for Life scratchcard. Diane Collins, who is 45 and works as the manager of the Weston Gold Exchange, tapped into her own stream of gold after scratching the panels and revealing the biggest win of her life. The top prize in the Rich for Life scratchcard game is £40,000 each and every year, and so Diane can now look forward to a future that is just as bright and shiny as the jewellery that she sells in her store!

Diane purchased her lucky scratchcard from a local newsagent, and she did so based on her liking of particular numbers. “I don’t go out and I don’t drink, so Scratchcards are my one little treat in life,” she explained. “All of the Scratchcards are numbered and I have a thing about the numbers four and nine. I noticed I could buy number 19 if I chose Rich For Life.”

That simple choice paid off handsomely for Diane, who quickly called her fiancé Steve and then her mother to share the good news. However, even after telling her family that she had won the Rich for Life lottery scratchcard game, she still found the fact hard to take in.

“It was still sinking in yesterday,” Diane explained. “It doesn’t feel real. To know that I don’t have to worry about how I’m going to pay the next bill and that I can treat my friends and family is wonderful.”

After enjoying a celebratory party with friends and family, Diane intends to use some of her first annual payout to install dormers in her bungalow. “I’ve actually been saving up and getting quotes for the work on the house to get the best rate,” she said. “I will still keep looking, but it’s good to know it can definitely go ahead. I’m also going to apply for planning permission to turn the loft into a studio for Steve to pursue his art and for me to do my tapestry.”

It is always nice to be reminded that life-changing wins aren’t the sole domain of draw-based lottery games, and those of you who want to try and land a scratchcard win of your own should feel free to explore the Scratchcards section of this site. Don’t forget that there is also a EuroMillions jackpot of £48 million to play for on Tuesday 7 June as well as a Lotto jackpot of £2.4 million on Wednesday 8 June, so buy your tickets, enjoy the games and good luck!
