More Saturday jackpot winners
Updated: Wednesday 23rd April 2014
Last night there were even more Saturday jackpot winners in the Lotto draw, continuing a trend that has gone on for some eight weeks now. The last time that the National Lottery jackpot rolled over on a Saturday night was way back in April when the £4.3 million jackpot was missed by all players, but that particular jackpot was quickly taken down on the following draw. So why do Saturday night’s lottery results make millionaire jackpot winners so often at the weekend?
The higher number of players at the weekend, in comparison to the number of players who buy tickets for the midweek draws, may have something to do with the number of Saturday night jackpot winners. However, to go eight weeks without being won on a Saturday and then to be won just about every Wednesday after seems like quite a coincidence.
Last night’s two lucky lottery jackpot winners each took home a whopping £3,530,707 for matching all six of the main lottery numbers, with seven players matching five numbers plus the bonus ball to win just over £200,000, along with thousands of other lower prizes that were won last night. Last night’s winning National Lottery numbers were; 3, 8, 10, 35, 38 and 39, with the bonus ball being drawn as 31.
Even though the Saturday night rollover jackpot has been won there’s still an estimated £2.2 million to play for in Wednesday night’s draw. If you want to buy lottery tickets online for the Lotto and EuroMillions by clicking the play links below.Published: Sunday 19th June 2011
