Midweek Lotto Jackpot Must Be Won!
Updated: Monday 12th September 2016
The midweek Lotto jackpot offerered this week on Wednesday 14th September will be worth an estimated £24.7 million, and the even better news is that it is guaranteed to be won! This is because a single rollover rule comes into force if no player wins the jackpot when it hits £22 million or more, and since the previous jackpot – which rolled over on Saturday 10th September – was worth £22.57 million, the top prize in the coming game will not be allowed to roll over again.
Whilst we all hope that one or more players will be able to match all six main numbers this Wednesday to win the jackpot outright, if that doesn’t happen, then the jackpot fund will ‘roll down’ to the next highest prize tier which does have winners, with the cash divided equally between each of the winning players. That means the estimated £24.7 million could well be won by players matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball, or even by players who match five main numbers only.
The Lotto jackpot has reached its current total thanks to eight straight rollovers. The last time the jackpot was landed was on Saturday 13th August, when a single ticket matched all six main numbers to win an impressive £16.1 million. The rest of the summer went by rather quietly as far as the top prize was concerned, allowing it to gradually rise, draw by draw, to its current lofty heights.
As always, the jackpot won’t be the only prize up for grabs in Wednesday’s Lotto game, because consolation prizes will be awarded to all players who match two or more main numbers. In addition, every line of numbers that is entered into the main Lotto draw will also give its owner a chance of winning a Lotto Millionaire Raffle prize of £1 million or one of 20 Lotto Raffle prizes worth £20,000 each.
For players who wish to include one of more of the most overdue numbers on their Lotto tickets for the £24.7 million game, our Lotto Statistics page reveals that the ones to look out for are 07, 48, 33, 25, 13 and 21. Whatever numbers you choose to play, enjoy the game and good luck!Published: Monday 12th September 2016
